As Assistant Conductor and Repetiteur, Edward Reeve has been a key member of the Royal Opera House team. Working with Antonio Pappano, he has been preparing for the continuing roll out of the Ring Cycle and this year, specifically Siegfried.
He completed a PhD on Wagner’s orchestration at Cambridge University in 2022 which will shortly be published by Routledge. He will discuss with musical examples how this research will be used in his preparation for Siegfried looking at the trade-off between the practical and aesthetic in the orchestration.
