Festspielhaus Baden-Baden: Jonas Kaufmann and Klaus Florian Vogt sing Wagner

Richard Wagner at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden? A unique success story, with a Russian “Ring of the Nibelung,” a “Parsifal” under the baton of Kent Nagano, and a “Rheingold” with Sir Simon Rattle played on original instruments, to name a just a few past highlights.

Now Sir Simon with his Berlin Philharmonic will be responsible for an eagerly-awaited new production of “Tristan.” Gergiev will also be continuing his involvement with the “Ring” cycle, presenting a concert version of “Die Walküre” with Jonas Kaufmann as Siegmund – a role that Klaus Florian Vogt will also shine in this October. The highest standard for the quality of both singers and musicians continues to be the basis for sustaining Wagner’s music – a standard that is met not only for Wagner, but for each of the over 120 productions every season. www.festspielhaus.de/en/
